General Description
The tour to Qeswachaka is a unique experience that transports you back in time to discover one of the last living expressions of Inca engineering. Located in the province of Canas, at approximately 3,700 meters above sea level, this suspension bridge is rebuilt annually by local communities following ancient techniques inherited from their ancestors.
Itinerary
The tour begins with pickup from your hotel at 4:30 a.m. The journey lasts approximately 3.5 hours through the beautiful landscape of Peru’s southern highlands. Along the way, we’ll pass through small Andean communities and breathtaking landscapes with mountains and lagoons. Upon arriving at Qeswachaka, we’ll encounter a masterpiece of Inca engineering. This bridge, made of ichu (Andean grass), is approximately 28 meters long and hangs over the Apurimac River canyon. The experience of crossing it is unique, allowing us to experience the skill and courage of the ancient Incas. Our expert guide will explain the history of the bridge, its cultural significance, and the annual reconstruction process, which involves four communities that follow the techniques inherited from their ancestors. After this wonderful experience, we’ll return to Cusipata to enjoy our buffet lunch. Later, we’ll return to Cusco at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Flexibility
- The cancellation policy is valid up to 3 days before the travel date and applies without penalty. Otherwise, a 100% penalty applies.
- The rescheduling policy is valid up to 3 days before the travel date and applies until December 31, 2025.

- Tour start time: Between 4:00 and 5:00 AM (it is recommended to be ready at the pickup point 15 minutes in advance).
- For group tours: Passengers are responsible for arriving on time according to the established itinerary of the purchased tour package. Otherwise, they may be able to join the corresponding service later under their own means (transportation). No refund will be applied for the missed service.
- For group tours, we pick up guests from hotels located in the historic center of Cusco. If you are staying at an accommodation outside this area, please contact us to arrange a meeting point.
